Two Platform One students are organising an evening with the first female West End musical director at the Castle Inn, Newport, tomorrow (Thursday, April 10).
Emma Simpson, 23, from Newport and Georgia Emmett, 21, from Shanklin, have set-up the event as part of their Degree Course.
Emma explained: “Part of the module is to plan an event from scratch and this is one we have collaborated on together.
“It’s called: ‘Musical Theatre: A Hobby or a Career?’ and it features Wendy Gadian and other anticipated guests.
“Wendy has directed productions of A Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line and many more. She has also worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Mear, Maria Friedman and Clive Rowe.
“It’s a chance for younger people who would like to go into musical theatre to ask her questions about her career and what she looks for in actors and actresses when she is hiring them for her own productions.”
Doors open at 7pm and it’s £6 entry on the night. Recommended age 14+.
