Motorcycle trialists get into deep water

An overnight deluge ensured that the eighth round of the 2020 Winter Series Trials Championship, held at Sweetwater Brook, Calbourne, on Sunday, rapidly became Deepwater Brook!

The expert winner of the Isle of Wight Motorcycle Club (IWMCC) event, Jack Ayres, made light work of the testing conditions, completing his four laps for a miserly total of just 12 lost marks.
Ross Haydon came first in the Intermediate class, posting the lowest score of the day, losing only a single mark at section 6.

The Over 50s class was won by Stuart Gummer, who put in a confident performance to beat second placed Andy Scott-Jackson.
Nick Symes was the convincing winner of the Twinshocks, performing outstandingly to finish on just 2.
Tristan Osborne was the clear winner in the Novice class, crossing the line 24 ahead of the second placed rider, Ben Ashcroft.
The closest battle of the day involved Kev Smith and Mike True in the Adult Easy class, which Kev managed to win by just 1 mark.
The Youth classes were headed by Alfie Haydon with a fantastic ride on the ‘B’ route, beating friendly rival Josh Morris into second spot.

The next IWMCC scheduled event will be the Guy Fawkes Cup, to be held on November 7.
