Late night smash in Lake leaves road littered with debris
1 min readPolice were called to Lake High Street late on Saturday evening after a traffic collision left debris littered across the carriageway and pavement.
A Skoda Fabia hatchback was left with heavy impact damage to its front end front after apparently colliding with several bollards lining the side of the road. It was a single-vehicle incident. Two occupants of the Skoda were arrested but one of them was later released without charge.

The collision occurred shortly before midnight with several police units attending.
No-one was injured but Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that two occupants in the Skoda – a 21-yer-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were initially arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when the alcohol level is above the legal limit – and for having no insurance.
And later the police told the IW Observer: “Madeleine Kae Evans, 22, of Victoria Road, Shanklin, has been charged with use of a motor vehicle on a road or in a public place without third-party insurance.
“She will appear before Newport Magtistrates Court on November 23.
“The 21-year-old man was released and no further action will be taken against him.”
