Island archer wins Hampshire double

Island archer, Summer Chambers, claimed two titles and set new personal bests at the Hampshire Indoor Championships over the weekend.

Competing in a WA18 round, Summer scored 529 in the singles and 514 in the doubles, giving a combined total of 1,043. The result secured first place in both categories, and marked a personal best performance.

She then went on to compete in the Portsmouth round, scoring 558 in the singles and 552 in the doubles for a total of 1,110.

Despite the demanding schedule taking its toll on competitors across the weekend, Summer’s scores were enough to secure the title of Indoor Hampshire Champion for 2026.

Speaking after the event, Summer said: “I’m incredibly proud of this achievement and thank you to everyone who supported and encouraged me – it really means a lot.”
