In Division One, in a quirky result, Wight Whizzers A beat Shanklin & Godshill by 1 wicket, with Shanklin scoring 93-5 from 12 overs, including opener Tom Roscoe’s 31. In reply, JKP Jinu’s unbeaten 45 saw Whizzers reached bowled out for a match-winning 96, with 2 balls remaining.
Division Two’s Wight Whizzers B beat IW Prison Officers by 39 runs, with Whizzers hitting 142 all out with 2 balls remaining. Jobin Mathew struck 49 before being run out by Jordan Langdon who also took 3-34, Nitin Johnson added 24 and skipper Arjun Aji 27 before being stumped by opposing skipper, Les Barns. In response, Tom Killeen opened with 30 as the Officers were all out for 103, with Arjun Aji responsible for 2 runs and taking 1 wicket for 16.
In Division Three, Wight Whizzers C beat Ventnor C by 4 wickets, with Ventnor captain, Toby Noyes, opening with an unbeaten 47 from a total of 108-4. Akshay Harikumar opened with 25 not out, with Nitin Johnson adding 25, as Whizzers reached 109-2 in the 10th over.
In the Junior U12 competition, Northwood Originals enjoyed success in the competition that also saw Ryde, Arreton, and Newport in the final four.
