Are you ready for your close up? Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece, Sunset Boulevard, is coming to Shanklin Theatre in a bold new production from Horse Box Theatre, directed by Joe Plumb.
Starring Hanna Emily Nixon, as the faded movie star, Norma Desmond, who is haunted by her memories and dreams as she desperately tries to make her return to the big screen. Charles Johnson takes on the role of struggling screenwriter, Joe Gillis, who embarks on a dangerous, yet compelling, friendship with Ms Desmond, with disastrous consequences. They are both joined by Steve Jones, as Max, and Ashleigh Mackness, as Betty, along with an incredible all-female ensemble cast.
Dazzling dance routines, choreographed by Joe Alabaster, and a live orchestra, playing one of the most stunning scores in musical theatre, under the baton of Steve Burton. The thrillingly atmospheric Sunset Boulevard features an iconic score including the songs “With One Look,” “The Perfect Year,” and “As If We Never Said Goodbye.”
