Go show your talent – yeah man!

If you fancy showing off your unique talent and getting on TV, then head down to the Quay Arts Centre in Newport on Tuesday, October 29. From 3pm to 8pm there will be auditions for the popular ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and maybe you will get as far as the irrepressible and unforgettable reggae singer Derek Sandy, who just missed out on a semi-final place last year.

Although Derek didn’t win he put the Isle of Wight on the BGT map with Ant and Dec dancing along in T-shirts declaring their love for the Island.

Derek said: “People should go along. It’s not as easy as it looks and there’s lots of ups and downs but it’s worth a try. Overall I had an amazing time and I’m right behind anybody from the Island who gets through the initial auditions I want to thank the Island and all the people who gave me such fantastic support – and wish them an early Merry Christmas – as I’m going home to Trinidad and Tobago for a while. I’m then coming back to do a new video – expect it out on the first week of May.

“I wish everybody who auditions good luck. You never know, ‘til you give it a go.”

All are welcome but children under 18 must be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian.
