Forest Road reopened in both directions after crash
1 min readForest Road has reopened in both directions after a road traffic incident involving a Mini and a Toyota brought traffic to a standstill.
The road between Newport and Shalfleet is no longer blocked following the two-car collision.
Route 7 via Shalfleet due to leave Newport at 09:15 will depart 15 minutes late owing to the incident along Forest Road. Apologies if affected. <WN> #travelalert

Reports of an RTI on Forest Road, near Snow’s Garage. It appears the road is currently closed in both directions. This means route 7 via Shalfleet will divert via Middle Road and Elm Lane until the accident has been cleared. <WN> #travelalert

Southern Vectis diverted the number 9 bus service while emergency services responded to the incident.
The crash is believed to be near Snow’s BMW garage.
The road was cleared and reopened at 10.35am.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed they had received a call at 8.56am, reporting a two vehicle collision on Forest Road.
One person was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
