Five sailors rescued by lifeboat after breakdown

The Cowes RNLI lifeboat, Sheena Louise, was launched at just after 5.30 pm on Sunday (December 30) to assist a motor boat with five people aboard, which had broken down in Osborne Bay, near East Cowes.

The lifeboat crew set up a tow and brought the vessel into the safety of Cowes harbour.

The lifeboat was met by Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team at Shepards Wharf Marina. The lifeboat then returned to station to be prepared for the next launch.
