Fire crews called to West Wight following incident involving gas cylinders
1 min readTwo fire appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have attended an incident involving a gas canister to a propert in The Squar in Freshwater in the early hours of Sunday morning (December 30) at the request of the police.
A spokeswoman from Hampshire fire and rescue, who mobilised the appliances, said Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary had also attended the scene.
Fire fighters in breathing apparatus entered the property and used PPV (Positive Pressure Ventilation) and a gas monitor to ventilate the property. The spokeswoman from Hampshire fire and rescue refused to comment further and stated that the police were now managing the incident.
The Isle of Wight Fire Service and Hampshire Constabulary have been approached for further comment.
