Two Isle of Wight fire crews have been called to tackle a blaze that has broken out in a flat. Firefighters and two appliances from Shanklin and Sandown have been called to deal with the incident on the High Street in Sandown. Crews were mobilised to the incident just after 5.30pm on Tuesday.
UPDATE: 6pm
On arrival, crews found that the alarm had been raised following burnt cooking. Advice was given to the residents and a home fire safety visit was also conducted.
