Blue Light Fight Night is returning next Saturday (November 7) at GG’s Bar & Restaurant – and the rivalry has stepped up a gear, as the Fire and Police and the Prison Services go head‑to‑head in a charity boxing showdown.
Isle of Wight firefighters are joining forces with Island police officers to form one powerhouse Blue Light team, taking on HMP Isle of Wight officers in what promises to be a lively night of action, competition, and plenty of bragging rights. Fighters from all three services are already deep into training as they prepare to step into the ring.
While each team will be hoping to walk away with the trophy, the real winners will be the two Island charities benefiting from the event: Kissy Puppy and The Wight Brainy Bunch.
A spokesman for The Wight Brainy Bunch said they were delighted to bring the event back. “It’s been a few years since the last Fight Night, so there’s clearly going to be a bit of rivalry between the services. But ultimately, everyone stepping into the ring is doing it to raise money for charity, and we’re incredibly grateful to every fighter, trainer, sponsor, and supporter.”
General admission tickets are £25, with VIP ringside tables of ten available for £600. Doors open at 6.30pm, with the first bout at 7.30pm. Over‑18s only. Tickets via iw.observer/blue-light-fight-night.
