October Half Term begins with Fan T C Con 4 – The Isle of Wight’s very own comic con tomorrow (Saturday).
The convention promises a fun day for all the family, with the opportunity to dress up in fancy dress or cosplay. Buy merchandise from traders, nostalgically enjoy playing retro video games, experience VR gaming, board games and even Dungeons and Dragons. They will also have a Brick Zone and local pro wrestlers.
They have the usual Doctor Who Zone, where you can meet the Daleks, and have a photo opportunity with them and the Tardis. Have your picture taken with Sandstone Productions’ Delorean Time Machine, and get your cosplay captured professionally at DK Photography’s studio. You can even have a professional photo with a celebrity guest (for a fee). This year’s celebrity guests include Sylvester McCoy, Nicola Bryant, Jeff Rawle, and many more.
Cash is preferred (you will need it for autographs and photographs with celebrity guests), and the nearest ATM is at Pan Post Office, in Newport. Cash back will be limited at the check in desk with a £2 charge for using the service.
The event will be officially opened by Richard Quigley MP, who has supported Fan TC Con since 2022.
The event runs from 10am to 5pm at 1Leisure Medina. Parking is free, but please make a donation to Mountbatten.
