One person was reported missing onboard Wightlink’s ‘MV Victoria of Light’ sparking concerns for the passengers safety.

Both boats from Ryde Inshore Rescue were launched at 01.36 on Friday (January 25), joining Bembridge and Ventnor rescue teams in the search.

This was the first night time call for Ryde Rescue’s new lifeboat which is equipped with a thermal imaging camera designed specifically for these type of searches.

The missing person was found safe and well by police officers at a property on the Island.[/su_column]
