A record 150 bikes took part in Sunday’s motorcycle charity, Distinguished Gentleman’s Rideout, raising £8,000 for the Movember charity for men’s health.
The impeccably-dressed riders started at Dave Death Motorcycles, in Carisbrooke, and headed through Newport, Shanklin (where they regrouped), Sandown, Yaverland, Bembridge, Ryde and Appley, before finishing at the Havenstreet Steam Railway for the Festival of Transport.
Organiser, Mike Upsell, said: “We have been running the event on the Island for 11 years and it’s a part of a worldwide day of charity ride-outs.
“A few of our members are sponsored, and are quite competitive so a couple managed to raise £1,000 apiece, and, with some generous donations along the way, we raised an amazing £8,000 to bring our running total to around £40,000 over the years.
“The day was something we should all be very proud of, and finishing at the Festival of Transport for a fitting end to the occasion.”
