Design competition for young creatives

By Press Release May 5, 2023

If you’re aged between 14 and 25, and are looking for a chance to show off your creative skills, you could win £150 for your ideas.

Grace’s Bakery is looking for a label design for their baking kits, which will be launched in their on-line shop for home delivery later this year. Their new Baking in Schools fund will allow Island primary schools to apply for all the ingredients and resources needed to teach baking skills. Profits from their new baking kits will

sustain the fund – so every time a customer buys a baking kit they’ll be helping local schools to teach baking skills too. The kits will help you bake your own bread, make cakes and more with all the ingredients included along with easy-to-follow instructions.

The kits need an awesome label or ‘belly band’ to go around the boxes, and Grace’s want it to be designed by a young Island creative. They’re looking for a great idea, so it doesn’t have to be a finished piece of work. They will work with the winner to turn their idea into a printed label.

As well as the £150 cash prize, the winner’s details will be printed on all the packaging, so it’s a great opportunity to get your design portfolio out there. There will be two runners-up, who will win £40 of Island produce, and also have their portfolio promoted on Grace’s Bakery’s social media accounts.

The deadline for entries is Monday, June 5 – so get designing. You can find all the details of how to enter at iow.life/designcomp.
