Police are searching and appealing for information about a woman who has gone missing from St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
Family and friends of missing 44-year-old Charlotte Burch are growing increasingly worried about her welfare tonight (Wednesday, January 9).
Charlotte, who is in her 40s, is understood to have a medical condition and is believed to have left St Mary’s wearing just pyjamas and a dressing gown.
Searches for Charlotte have been carried out in Shankin and Sandown. Tonight’s freezing temperatures are of particular concern.
It’s understood that Charlotte’s phone has been left behind at the hospital.
No formal search and rescue operation has been launched as yet. However, volunteer SAR assets are aware of the situation as a result of a Facebook appeal.
Charlotte is described as wearing hospital scrubs, a black cardigan and Ugg-style boots.
