Christmas lights donation to WightSAR

Roger and Wendy and the Hills present WightSAR with the cheque

A Christmas lights display in Lake has raised nearly £500 for IW Search and Rescue (WightSAR).

The display was held by Roger Burrows and Wendy Mitchell of Meadow Close, who chose WightSAR as their annual charity.

A WightSAR spokesman said: ” We confirmed the final amount with Roger and Wendy, and The Hill Family, who helped erect the roof display, was an amazing £490.90.

“What can we say? Thank you so much, not just for the vital donation, but also for telling your Christmas Light ‘visitors’ what we do and raising our profile, something just as important as the donation.

“Visitors to this family friendly cul-de-sac display were treated to bubbles, sweets and much more! The team really enjoyed their visits and meeting some of the display visitors. Everyone was amazed at the spectacular lights.

“Thank you to everyone who visited and donated to achieve this amount. We will put this money to very good use by purchasing some vital lifesaving equipment for our searches.”
