The BB23 footpath, which runs between Sandown Road and Centurions Copse, has been damaged by a burst water main.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight Council said: “Southern Water needs to make repairs and reinstate the path. We will update you once open.”
Southern Water confirmed engineers are currently repairing a burst 450mm water main and work should be completed by January 4.
