Brougham quits as East Cowes Vics boss

Steve Brougham has resigned as manager of Wessex League, Division One side East Cowes Vics. Brougham had been in charge just over two-and-a-half years, and was a former manager of both Brading and Newport.

His decision comes after a disappointing league start for Vics, who have picked up just two points from their first nine games. Vics are to begin their search for a successor, although John Simpkins and Gary Todd will take temporary charge for Saturday’s game at Alton, and the home match against Hythe and Dibden on Tuesday evening.

A Vics statement said: “We as a club are sad to announce the resignation of first team manager Steve Brougham. Steve has been at the club three seasons and has worked tirelessly to develop out first team squad. The club would like to take the opportunity to thank Steve for all his hard work throughout his time at Vics, and wish him all the very best for the future.”
