Activities for all at Beckford Centre

The Beckford Centre in Cowes held their first open day for more than ten years on Wednesday (October 23) to showcase the many activities that go on in the charity run community centre. Mayor of Cowes, Lora Peacey Wilcox opened the event and stayed for two hours enjoying the exhibits. Many of those who attended expressed an interest in joining one or more of the groups.

At the moment there is Art for All on Monday and Thursday afternoons, a group studying the Island’s past on Monday mornings and Crafty Cowes and Stitchcraft on Tuesday. Every other Wednesday afternoon there is Simply Photography and a new Singalong group is being formed. Onn Thursday mornings a Discussion Group is held.

If anyone would like to come along to the activities or start a new group they will be made very welcome.
