14 riders crossed the Solent for trails championships

The Isle of Wight was well represented at the final round of the Southern centre trials championships last weekend, when no fewer that 14 riders crossed the Solent to take part in the event held near Ringwood.

Having already won the intermediate championship, James Stay rode in the main expert class for the first time and finished in a very respectable 6th place, while his traveling companion Rob Howard who had already won the expert championship went one better to finish 5th in a very competitive class.

But no doubt the star of the day, making an almost guest appearance was the Island’s top rider Chris Stay, who once again proved that he is one of the best riders in the south of England by loosing less than half the marks of his nearest rival, and beating over one hundred other competitors to take an easy win.
