The second IW Writers’ jamboree, an annual get-together of Island writers, takes place at the Island Sailing Club, Cowes, on Monday, February 9, between 6 and10pm.

Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success, with more than 100 writers in attendance. It was an opportunity to hear from various sources who can paint a broad picture of the Island’s cultural landscape, focusing on what opportunities there may be for writers, both here and across the southern region.

Organised by Medina Bookshop, in collaboration with Creative Island and the IW Creative Network, there will also be representatives from the likes of Naked Figleaf Press, Brevity, Lemon Jelly and other groups and organisations showcasing Island literary talent. Tickets £5, include a cone of fish and chips or vegan alternative, can be purchased from Medina Bookshop, Cowes, or via iw.observer/writers-jamboree.
