Wildheart Animal Sanctuary launches Run Wild 5km fancy dress charity run for 50th anniversary

A 5km (3 miles) fancy dress charity run is set to take place at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary this summer.

Earlybird tickets have gone on sale for the ‘Run Wild’ event, which will be held on Sunday, July 5, as part of the sanctuary’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The route will start outside the sanctuary in Sandown, taking in the seafront, before returning past Frosty, the white lion, and finishing in the picnic area.

All participants will receive a medal, while those who raise £50 before May 21 will also receive a free event T-shirt to wear on the day.

Lorraine White, head of community, events, and partnerships at the sanctuary, said the event would offer a chance to raise funds while enjoying a day out. She added that animal-themed fancy dress is encouraged, with organisers expecting a range of costumes on display.
