Postal registration for this year’s Walk the Wight is only available until Thursday.

Mountbatten’s flagship event takes place on Sunday, May 12, but packs and walker numbers can only be sent in the post to those who register before 9am on Thursday, April 18.

From that date, on-line registration for both Walk the Wight and Schools Walk the Wight will still be possible, but walker numbers can only be collected from your chosen start line on the day.

“We can’t believe it’s just one month until the big day – the countdown to Walk the Wight 2024 is well and truly on,” said Lorraine White, Mountbatten’s fund-raising manager. “If you are somebody who likes to receive your pack and walker number in the post, then now is the time to register. We’re so excited to welcome thousands of people to the start lines on Sunday, May 12.

“Last year, Walk the Wight scooped two top awards and raised a record-breaking £460,000, which is going to be a really tough act to follow, but let’s give it a good go! As our flagship event, Walk the Wight raises significant funds to support the work we do for people on the Island, experiencing death, dying and bereavement. Please get behind us and Walk the Wight this May.”

From April 18, on-line registration for the main walks will cost £15 per person. It closes at 9am on May 9.

You can register on the day for a donation of £20 per person. To sign up, visit iw.observer/walkthewight24.
