Vectis enjoy a great game against Havant

Havant under-14s 36 v Vectis under-14s 12

Vectis under-14s rugby team travelled to Havant for the last league game of the season. The sun was shining and Havant’s artificial pitch led to a thrilling, fast, running game. Havant scored three tries in the first half and converted one. Vectis responded with Jack Price scoring an excellent individual try on the wing, running most of the pitch, with Callum Rees converting from a difficult position. After an infringment by Havant, William Graham used his initiative to take a quick tap and run in from 15 yards out. The teams went in at half time, with Havant one unconverted try in front.

The home team proved to be strong opposition and fitness took its toll on such a hot day, which probably made the difference in the second half. Havant went on to score three tries, with the final score 36-12, but Vectis can be proud of their performance against such a well-resourced club.

Man-of-the-match was Jack Price, but Ben Mumford and Arlow Lambie got a specific mention for their hard work in the forwards and backs respectively.

Vectis will be meeting throughout the summer for fitness training and would welcome potential new players to come along and join ready for next season.
