Ventnor scorer Emerson Tattersall takes on Brading defender

IW 1st XI won 4-0 at home to Haslemere, in Division Two South, with goals from Sam Challis, and 1 apiece for Alex Breach and player-of-the-match, Antonio Ferreira.

A dominant IW 2nd XI won 5-0 at home to Portsmouth in Solent One, with Thomas Young scoring an early goal to settle nerves. Further goals came from Stephen Woodford, Peter McClellend, Carl Joyce, and a stunning strike from player-of-the-match, Seb Foster. This built on the defensive trio of Stuart Allen, Toby Noyes, and Jarrod Butler, who ensured Portsmouth had few attacks.

The Women’s 1st XI won 5-0 away at Hamble in Division Two South, with player-of-the-match, Georgia Whittle, scoring a hat-trick. A penalty flick in the final minute rounded off an afternoon that saw goals from Evie Fairhurst and Jaimie Payne, with keeper, Tia Shutler, having few touches of the ball.

A mixed XI match saw IW draw 2-2 with Winchester B (who went on to win 4-3 on penalty flicks), with the Islanders leading twice through goals from Antonio Ferreira and player-of-the-match, Polly Rider, with the match played in the right spirit.

This weekend the 1st XI travel to Trojans III, and 2nd XI away to Trojans. Women’s 1st XI are home to leaders Andover, with the 2nd XI away at Basingstoke.
