A new trading card shop, Trading Card Kingdom, officially opened its doors in Newport over the weekend, offering a fresh destination for collectors on the Island. Located at Units 4 & 5 in Central Market, Scarrots Lane, the shop stands out by specialising in individual trading card singles, rather than sealed packs or boxes. Collectors can browse an impressive range of Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering and other sought-after trading cards — ideal for anyone hoping to complete their collection or hunt down that rare card.
The launch weekend saw a strong turnout, with hundreds of enthusiasts visiting from across the Island. The shop’s offerings include not only modern singles but also graded cards and vintage finds.
Trading Card Kingdom is the brainchild of local collectors, Chris Boneham and Adam Wynn, who bring years of experience in the trading card scene. Chris expressed his appreciation for the community’s warm welcome, saying they were “blown away by the response”. Adam added that, while Newport already hosts several great stores offering sealed products, their shop aims to complement the existing scene by meeting the growing demand for singles, especially older, harder-to-find cards.
Open every weekend and during special events, Trading Card Kingdom welcomes both seasoned collectors and newcomers looking to explore the hobby in a friendly and dedicated environment.
