The Phoenix Choir were ‘on song’ during their visit to All Saints Church Newchurch to help raise funds for the iconic white tower which requires significant restoration.
The sizeable audience gave each song an enthusiastic reception and appreciated the wide variety of music performed by the choir. There were songs from musicals, films, folk, Christian, popular, sea shanty and traditional, which included five solo performances from choir members.
A successful evening enjoyed by all those who attended with a total of £672 raised toward the Appeal.
The choir’s next concert is in the newly refurbished Newport Minster on Saturday July 13 at 7.30pm in aid of those living with dementia and their carers. Free admission with a retiring collection.
