Well-being Café members were enjoying a game of crazy golf at Rylstone Gardens in Shanklin, when they received a surprise visit from Phil Holland, president of Ventnor Lions Club.

Phil presented a cheque for £500 to Cath Hammond, the group’s co-ordinator. He said: “Ventnor Lions Club were delighted to be able to make this donation to the Well-Being Café, to enable the group to continue with the great help and assistance that they offer to people who attend the café.”

Cath, and the members present, thanked Phil and the Ventnor Lions for the donation, which will be used to help provide additional support for members of the group.

The group was enjoying one of their regular outings, on this occasion a bus trip to Shanklin to play a round of Crazy Golf and a picnic lunch.

Ventnor Well-being Café meets four times a week in the Green Room in Salisbury Gardens – from 10am to 2pm on Monday and Wednesday and on Tuesday and Friday from noon to 4pm. Find more details about the café on Facebook.
