More than 50 motorcyclists took part in the first Lance Daish Memorial Ride-out on Saturday.

Lance, 51, died following a collision near his home in Shalfleet on August 11 last year and his son, Keetan, 22, organised the event to support Hants & IW Air Ambulance and The Bike Experience.

Keetan, from Whitwell, said: “We all met at Freshwater Bay and rode across the Island before finishing at the Community Club in Cowes. It went incredibly well and there were no issues with the amount of us on the road; the public were really supportive and it was well-received by everyone. I’m already thinking of organising a ride-out for next year. We want to make more noise in memory of dad!

“We have a lot of collection buckets, but I will give those to the charities unopened, so they can count the money. But we have already given them both £400 each following money raised from his funeral.”
