The Sportsman’s Rest is up-and-running with a mother and daughter taking over the Porchfield pub.
Nicola Price, a former manager at the Pavilion Bar and Restaurant at Newclose Cricket Ground, is now landlady along with her daughter, Tania.
The pub has had a mixed history over the last few years opening and closing on various occasions.
Tania said: “We have had a lot of work to do getting it up and running; it was a bit of a mess when we took over. But we’re getting a lot of support from the locals and we want to expand that into the wider community. We’re open seven days a week from 11am and currently serving a limited menu, which we are looking to expand.
“Hopefully, we will have a bright future here and we’re really looking forward to the future.”
