The Isle of Wight College held its annual Student Awards Ceremony on Friday, July 4, celebrating the achievements of students across a wide range of subjects and recognising their contributions to the local community.
Held at the Riverside Centre, the event honoured dedication, progress and leadership among learners, with individual awards sponsored by more than 30 Island and regional organisations.
Awards were presented in several categories, including the Progress Award, Dedication to Learning, Peer Support and Leadership, and an Outstanding Achievement Award. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Higher Education Awards and the coveted Student of the Year title.
Christian Rogers (Business) was named Student of the Year, recognised for his dedication, leadership and consistent determination. Runners-up were Sophie Lewis (Sports) and Ewan Winkles (Leisure and Tourism).
Principal Ros Parker said: “Our students have shown incredible resilience and dedication. The celebration was a testament to their hard work and the unwavering support of our staff and wider community. We are extremely proud of our Student of the Year finalists, who are an inspiration to others.”
The college also thanked its event compere, Hayden Taylor, and guest speaker, Carl Atkinson-Goffe, for their contributions.
