Strong performance from young Charlie in Ryde Rowing Club

Charlie Watts

Ryde Rowing Club’s J-15 sculler, Charlie Watts, competed in the Ball Cup Regatta at Dorney Lake in Eton on Sunday.

The purpose of the Ball Cup Regatta is to allow schools and clubs, which has not reached semi-finals or finals at national events, to compete against each other on a multi-lane course. The aim of the Ball Cup is to give small and emerging clubs, and their emerging competitors, a chance to experience true competition and the chance to win.

Charlie competed in two events: the J-15 Single Sculls and the J-16 Single Sculls events.

In the J-15 he finished first in his heat and in the final. In the J-16 he again finished first in his heat and, this time, was second in the final against some strong competition.
