STAR LETTER: How can these people live with themselves?

Dear Editor,
My dream was to be near my lovely family and live on the beautiful Isle of Wight. We were so lucky to have that chance.

I am so furious to see the butchering of trees. There is no reason for the devastation. These trees are straight, mature trees (at a time of nesting too). There is no good reason at all!

The nutty tree cutters are taking the beauty from the Island. In East Cowes and Newport that I have seen, it’s dreadful. The devastation caused is so upsetting.

Trees give us oxygen, store carbon and give life to wildlife. Trees purify the air we breathe and combat climate change. We have got to care about the environment, trees are an important part of that.

I hope I am not alone feeling so sad that there are such idiots about who don’t question what they are doing. It’s not a job to be proud of. Come and see for yourselves, how awful the trees look now in East Cowes.
