Sandown residents have reacted with dismay to speculation that Sandown Post Office, currently located at Central Stores, is set to shut at the end of the year, together with the store in which it is located.
At one time, there were as many as three Post offices in Sandown.
However, others have suggested that its closure might present a golden opportunity for a budding entrepreneur in Sandown, since the Post Office has one of the highest footfalls in the town.
An official announcement on the future of Sandown Post Office has yet to be made.
