Southern Vectis has admitted there are ‘minor issues’ with the new electric buses which have recently been added to their fleet, but say that overall they are performing well.
A reader contacted the IW Observer to say that his granddaughter was let down after a No 8 bus was cancelled to get her home from work at Bembridge Windmill. He said it was thought it was due to a flat battery, but a Southern Vectis spokeswoman confirmed: “The batteries on the bus were NOT flat.
“There was a minor technical issue on this particular bus that has since been remedied, and the bus is now back in service.
“There have been a few minor issues, as we would expect, but the buses are generally performing very well.”
