Significant Investment for Bump Express and CNC Coatings

Bump Express, an Island car repair centre who also specialise in alloy wheel repair and powder coating has made significant investment in their workshop, with help from the Isle of Wight Lottery.

The investment of over £35,000 in total includes the installation of a new state-of-the-art oven, an overhead rail system and a water wash spray booth. The new equipment was custom built for the company and is configured for powder coating and curing of alloy wheels. It enables the company more flexibility to include architectural, manufactured components and marine parts such as railings, marine portholes and more.

The latest investment follows on-going investment by John Nightingale who started the company in 2010 and adds to their already impressive array of specialist equipment. They have the Island’s only CNC Diamond Cut Lathe to repair Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels and a Wheel Straightening Machine which enables 99% of all repairs to be done “in-house”.

John said: “The demand for our services has doubled over recent years and this latest
equipment will transform the business, enabling us to significantly reduce process times for our powder coating service and to access other markets such as marine, architectural and manufacturing.”

With an estimated 72,500 cars on the Island its not surprising that Bump Express have been busy since opening their professional car care studio opposite Morrisons in Lake.
