A charity worker is going the extra mile to raise money for Breast Cancer Now by taking part in her fourth London Marathon later this month.
Sarah Tyrell-Jones, 49, from Sandown, is the Breast Cancer Now community fund-raiser on the Island, and is hoping to break her personal best on April 21. She said: “I never in my wildest dreams thought I would run four consecutive marathons; it’s been brilliant.
“I train most of the year doing running, swimming and some yoga which keeps me feeling good mentally and physically. But it’s still hard work getting around the course on the day; it doesn’t get any easier!
“The crowd play a big part with their support, and my husband and the Breast Cancer Now team are at various points along the course, so that gives me a huge boost.
“My best time is 6hrs 36mins because I’m not a fast runner, but I’m hoping for around 6hrs this time!”
