Santa to swap reindeer for Freshwater fire engine

Santa Claus will be hitching a lift with Freshwater’s firefighters on Christmas Day for a tour of both Freshwater and Totland.

Despite being rushed off his feet all morning, Santa Claus has generously agreed to spare an hour of his time to say hello to West Wight girls and boys on December 25.

Unfortunately, by 10 am his reindeer will almost certainly be far too exhausted to make the long journey from Lapland to Freshwater, so the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service’s retained firefighters at Station 9 have decided to help him out.

West Wight children of all ages should keep an eye out or Santa and the fire engine, as they may just get a little present as he passes by!

Santa is due to leave Freshwater Fire Station at 10am on Christmas morning, together with his two firefighter helpers: ‘Elf’ and ‘Safety’.
