Salmon and Strawberries raises £1,700 for the RNLI

On Wednesday, May 15, the Cowes RNLI Guild held their ‘Salmon and Strawberry Lunch’ at Commodore’s House in Cowes. John Terry gave the use of this unique venue, the former boathouse of Uffa Fox, in order to support the RNLI.

This year the event was held in memory of John’s late wife, Jane, who sadly passed away last year. Jane was a supporter of the RNLI for many years.

More than 70 people attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious lunch, the ambience of the setting, the magnificent harbour views and the glorious sunshine.

Being the 200th year anniversary of the RNLI, the event highlighted the bravery of the crews who save lives at sea and the dedication of all involved, including the many volunteers.

The guild holds popular monthly events during the year and encourages those who wish to support the RNLI to become members and attend events, which are always enthusiastically received.

The Guild raised £1,724 from the lunch, and would like to thank all those who worked so hard to support the event.
