Rotarians from the Bay collected almost 200 shoeboxes as part of their 2023 Xmas appeal, with donations from local schools and collected through the community shop in Lake High Street.
Branch president, Ian Fletcher, said: “We are really grateful for the donations, which will go to children in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
“Thanks to my fellow residents and Rotarians for their help with the appeal and making sure the boxes are safe for children. In these most challenging of times they will know they are in our thoughts and hearts at Christmas.”
‘Spreading a little happiness’ is the theme of a scheme aimed at providing gifts for babies, children and teenagers at Christmas, as well as presents for older folk and families.
