Dino Fun Day is just around the corner, taking place on Sunday, between 10am and 4pm, at Dinosaur Isle in Sandown. It promises to be a roarsome event that will transport visitors back to the age of the dinosaurs, with a line up of exhibitors and activities.
Entry is £1 per person on this day and there’s free car parking.
One of the main attractions is Debbie Webb, the mind behind the “Stevie Steg” books. Debbie will be on hand to chat with visitors and sign copies of her books.
Giving you a chance to become a detective for a day, Foxwell Forensics will be showcasing their work. Unearth clues, solve mysteries, and see if you have what it takes to be a forensic expert.
For those looking to add a splash of colour, the face painting station is the perfect spot. Transform into your favourite dinosaur or let your imagination run wild with creative designs.
The history of transport will also be on display as IW Bus Museum will have some of their classic vehicles, offering a glimpse into the past of Island transport. IW Metal Detectorists will also be present, ready to share their treasure-hunting tales.
Providing a unique perspective on the Island’s past, the IW Heritage Service will be showcasing the rich history of the area. Learn about the fascinating stories and heritage that make the Isle of Wight so special.
Furthermore, Dinosaur Isle’s palaeontologists will be on hand to provide expert advice on the local geology and assist visitors with fossil identifications. Whether you’ve stumbled upon a curious rock on your recent beach trip or you have an ancient relic in your possession, take it along. You can match your find with some of Wight Coast Fossils remarkable collection, while John Sibbick, artist known for his dinosaur illustrations, will be exhibiting his artwork.
In addition to all these exhibitors, there will be a colouring competition with prizes up for grabs.
