Readers Ryde closing down

1 min read

In another blow for Island High Streets, the Ryde branch of Readers is set to close on January 19. Readers, which sells furniture, home interiors and gifts, has its main store in Newport.

The co-owner of Readers Interiors, Sammie Reader, said: “Sadly we have decided to close our Ryde store after two years. Our last day will be Saturday, January 19.

“We would like to thank all of our customers who have visited and supported our Ryde branch, and we look forward to continue welcoming everyone to our main store in Newport.”

The closure of the Ryde store may provide the opportunity for shoppers to pick up bargains, as it currently has an ‘everything must go’ half-price sale.

The building housing the Readers’ store is set to become a Prezzo Italian restaurant.
