Quay Arts Centre has seen their charity box dragged into the bathroom and ransacked.
The centre’s staff took to social media to express their dismay after the burglary.
Hampshire Constabulary say the incident took place between 12pm and 1.10pm on Wednesday (July 25).
The Quay Arts Centre is a charity and relies on donations, along with sales from its cafe, shops and class fees to keep injecting culture into the Island.
Staff said they were “very upset” and were shocked the box had been dragged into the toilets before it was emptied.
Police say enquiries are ongoing.
