Pocket-friendly half term fun at Island museums

Families looking for affordable entertainment this half term can enjoy Hands on History, for just £1 per person, at two of the Island’s popular museums.

The Museum of Island History and Newport Roman Villa will open their doors with interactive sessions designed to spark curiosity in young minds, all for a pocket-friendly price. On Tuesday and Thursday this week, from 10am to 1pm, the Museum of Island History at Newport Guildhall will invite visitors to get creative with craft sessions inspired by the Anglo-Saxons.

At Newport Roman Villa, in Cypress Road, on Wednesday from 10am to 2pm, it’s time to take aim with history! Budding engineers can build and test their very own working catapult. The villa remains will be open to explore, with a picture hunt and museum displays offering a deeper look at the mighty Roman army and everyday Roman life.

There’s no need to book: just turn up and enjoy.

Entry and activities at both sites cost just £1 per person.
