Following the success of last year’s music industry seminar, Platform One decided to host a bigger and better event catering for both current students and the wider community.
On Friday, April 8, six experienced professionals from the world of music took part in ‘Inside The Industry’ – an interactive seminar with discussion and debate about various sectors of the modern music business, with the key theme of how to sustain a career in the music industry.
Guests were Tor Hills (vocalist for artists such as Anne Marie, James Bay and Demi Lovato), Jon Shone (musical director and pianist for One Direction), Mike Christie (from the vocal quartet, G4), Jessica Paine and Kali Bradford (from artist curation and content platform, Syncvault) and Stephanie Nieuwenhuys (presenter of BBC Introducing Solent).
Degree lecturer and host, Andy Booth, said: “We are passionate about engaging with music industry professionals and want to ensure that both our students and the community are aware of the possibilities and rewards of working in music.”
