All Saints Church, Ryde was the venue for the Phoenix Choir’s latest concert on Saturday, August 17 to raise funds towards their Pop-Up Café Project.
They were warmly welcomed by a large and enthusiastic audience of about 250 and performed a wide variety of easy listening songs which included “My Heart Will Go On”, a sea shanty, “The Impossible Dream”, a Gospel medley, and “Everything I Do”. Soloists were Jan Merwood with “Caledonia”, Pat Attrill with “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone”, Ian Attrill with “Distant Drums” and Elizabeth Habens with “I Will Follow Him” and “I Will Always Love You”. The enjoyable evening raised £1,266 towards the project.
Phoenix Choir’s next concert will be on Saturday September 21 at St Saviours Church, Shanklin starting at 7.45pm.
