A pensioner has escaped serious injury after he ploughed his Vauxhall Corsa into a parked car on Friday evening (November 30th).
The collision happened on the Newport Road in the Village of Rookley
Emergency services where alerted to the collision after a home owner heard the smash.
Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary closed the road at the junction with Merston Road and Whitley bank whilst the wreckage was cleared.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene who remarkably escaped without injury.
