Outdoor Bowls returns with open days for all

All bowling clubs on the Island are holding open days/Big Bowls events in April and May.

There’s national success for Shanklin Men who won the English Two Fours and were runners up in Top Club at the England finals. Ryde Marina Ladies won the Senior Fours at the England Finals and will represent England in the Home Nations finals in June. With notable performances also from Camphill, Ventnor, Sandown, Bembridge and Plessey at the National Finals.

Bowls is an inclusive sport for all ages. All you need is to turn up at your local club wearing flat-soled shoes, with the rest of the required equipment provided. Refreshments are available at the clubs.

Totland Bay – Sundays, May 5 and 19, 1pm to 3pm both dates.
Cowes Medina – Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 1pm to 3.30pm both dates
Plessey – Saturday, April 27.
Ryde Marina – Sunday, May 26, 10am to 4pm
Bembridge – Sundays, April 28 and May 5, 11am to 5pm both dates
Newport – Saturday, May 25, Sunday, May 26 and Monday May 27, 10am to 4pm all dates
Newport Ladies (ladies/girls only) – Sunday, May 12, 10am – 4pm .
Shanklin – Sunday, May 12.
Sandown – Sunday, May 12 & Monday, May 27, 12am to 4pm both dates
Ventnor – Monday, May 6, 11am to 4pm
Camphill – Saturday, May 25, 2pm to 6pm
